Bauchi Principal kidnapped alongside Bauchi Auditor-General's son begs his family to sell his properties to raise N50 Million ransom

Iliyasu Suleiman, a 50-year-old school principal kidnapped in Bauchi State, has asked his wife to sell his house and other property to raise the N50 million ransom demanded by his kidnappers.

The school teacher was kidnapped alongside the son of the state’s auditor-general, Zilkifiru Mohammed, who subsequently escaped from the kidnappers’ den.

In a viral audio, the 50-year-old victim was heard speaking to his family in Hausa while pleading with them to sell his properties to raise the money, adding that he's not comfortable in the kidnappers' den.

He also asked his wife to meet his employer in the Ministry of Education to rescue him.

He further appealed to Governor Bala Mohammed to rescue him from his abductors.

Suleiman said in the audio: "You don’t know the situation I am in at the moment; just go and sell my house. I believe you can hear how they are beating me. Like I told you, sell my house, otherwise, these people will kill me."

Iliyasu Suleiman, the Principal of Government Day Secondary School, Lere, in Tafawa Balewa Local Government Area of Bauchi State, has spent five days in the hands of his abductors.

The 50-year-old principal was with the Auditor General of Bauchi State, Abdu-Usman Aliyu, the AG’s son, daughter and two others, in Kardam, when the gunmen attacked their vehicle.

The assailants attempted to kidnap the auditor-general, but when he resisted, they shot him in the mouth.

The gunmen, who thought he was dead, left him in a pool of blood and kidnapped his son and the principal, while other occupants of the car fled.

The 25-year old son of the auditor general, Zulkifiru, escaped from captivity on Monday, Jan 25, leaving the principal behind.

The attorney general is still battling for his life at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital.
